Knew about misconduct on sets of Empuraan, action was taken immediately, says Prithviraj

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and director Prithviraj responded on the sexual harassment complaint against Mansoor Rasheed, assistant director of ‘Bro Daddy’. While talking to a media, he said the assistant director was fired as soon as he knew about it.

‘I came to know about the incident when the chief associate director told me that a case has been registered against Mansoor. This was in the beginning of the shoot of Empuraan in October 2023. Didn't know anything until then. He was kept away from the shoot soon after the incident and directed him to appear at the police station,’ said Prithviraj.

The incident happened on August 8 in 2021. The junior artist's complaint was that Mansoor sexually abused her after spiking her drink at a hotel in Hyderabad. Apart from the main actors, all the stars and crew of the film stayed in the same hotel. There is evidence that the production team booked her a room and ticket on Make My Trip. The woman had the other day revealed that the police had also collected the CCTV footage of the hotel after filing a complaint in Hyderabad.

The woman had also alleged that despite knowing the complaint, Mansoor was made a part of Empuraan. The complainant also said that she was informed later that he has been removed from the film.
