Renowned Malayalam filmmaker Blessy, known for his association with legendary directors Padmarajan and Bharathan, recently shared a memorable and emotional experience from his early days in cinema. Blessy, who made a stellar debut in Malayalam cinema and later garnered acclaim for his film "Aadujeevitham," opened up about a challenging incident that occurred during the shooting of the movie 'Nombarathipoovu,' where he served as a co-director under Padmarajan.
Recalling the event, Blessy revealed the anxiety he faced due to his stammering, which was a significant issue for him at that time. During the shoot, Blessy was tasked with announcing and clapping the board for a crucial scene involving Mammootty. However, his speech impediment caused him to fumble repeatedly, leading to laughter and noise on the set. The situation escalated when Mammootty, known for his serious demeanour, became visibly frustrated and reprimanded Blessy, questioning why someone else wasn't assigned to the task.
Blessy, deeply affected by the incident, found himself on the verge of tears. He feared that his career might end before it even began due to this mistake. However, Padmarajan, recognizing Blessy's distress, stepped in with a few comforting words. He advised Blessy to take his time, practice and try again later in the day.
