Journalist gets called out for misrepresenting Mohanlal's photo in sexual assault news

On Saturday, Mohanlal turned emotional while responding to the controversy circling the Hema committee report. The superstar of Mollywood expressed dismay over the media targeting him for all the wrongs happening in the industry. Many people ridiculed the response while a large other section came in support of the actor. On Saturday, TNM’s Dhanya Rajendran’s cheeky post on X triggered an uproar not just from Mohanlal fans but also from all sane-minded malayali netizens. Dhanya’s caption for the post was a description of Radhika Sarathkumar’s revelation about hidden cameras in caravans which she alleged were used by top actors of the industry. Dhanya could have posted Radhika Sarathkumar’s image for the post but she opted for Mohanlal’s image with the news. And in a dire attempt to come out clean from the brazen misrepresentation of the photograph, the journalist added an addendum on the caption asking viewers to read a report about ‘men collecting souvenirs’.

And now, the TNM journalist has ignited a controversy with people showing their wrath over the deliberate misuse of actor Mohanlal’s photo on a sexual assault news where he had nothing to do. Comments are appearing on social media platforms on the stooping low standards of journalism that seem as if the whole controversy was a hit job on actor Mohanlal.

“Dhanya knows this is not journalism. It is rather disgusting. How can she do objective reporting being this pliable? This work fits the title of yellow journalism more than anything. This is agenda.” Commented one user on the social media platform Reddit.

Many have also demanded Mohanlal to sue the journalist over the misrepresenting photo.
