PALAKKAD: Nilambur MLA P V Anwar has stated that the suspension of SP Sujith Das is the first concrete step taken by the government in response to the allegations raised by him. Anwar expressed hope that the police investigation would lead to justice but also warned of the possibility that lower-level officers might attempt to sabotage the case. However, he voiced confidence in the integrity of Thrissur DIG.
In the meantime, CPM state secretary M V Govindan confirmed that the party had discussed the allegations made by Anwar. According to Govindan, Sujith Das was suspended immediately after a preliminary investigation report was submitted. The state government has also appointed a committee to carry out an administrative-level inquiry into the issue. Govindan emphasized that strong action would be taken against any individual found guilty of wrongdoing.
He also took the opportunity to criticize the opposition, stating that every issue in Kerala is being unfairly used against the Chief Minister and the Communist Party. He defended the Hema Committee report, saying it is gaining recognition in various parts of the country, with similar demands emerging in other states.
M V Govindan dismissed claims linking the Communist Party with the RSS and BJP, labeling them as baseless. He denied any agreement between the CPIM and the BJP, accusing the opposition of spreading fake news. He also mocked the Congress for allegedly helping BJP leader Suresh Gopi win in Thrissur, claiming that BJP's victory was secured through Congress votes.
