KOZHIKODE: Anticipatory bail has been granted to director Ranjith. The Kozhikode Principal District Court granted him interim anticipatory bail for 30 days. The court said his arrest has been stayed for 30 days. He was granted bail in the case of a complaint filed by a native of Mankavu. The youth has mentioned in the complaint that director Ranjith subjected him to unnatural harassment.

‘Ranjith asked him to strip when we were in the room. Ranjith lured him to the room under the pretext of an audition. At this time, Ranjith was talking to an actress. Ranjith told me that it was actress Revathy. I don't know whether Ranjith has any relationship with Revathy. He sent my photo to the actress.

He told me that it was for Revathy and that she liked you. This incident happened during the audio launch after the pack up of ‘Bavuttiyude Namathil’.

Allegation against Ranjith
The youth said that when he reached the hotel room seeking a chance in films, Ranjith wrote his phone number in a tissue paper and asked him to send a message. He asked him to reach Taj Hotel in Bengaluru after two days. The youth alleged that he reached the hotel around 10 pm and then the director asked him to reach the room through the back gate. When he reached the room, he was forced to drink alcohol and then stripped him and subjected him to unnatural sex.
