ANKOLA: Bones and clothes were found from the cabin of Arjun’s lorry recovered from Gangavali river yesterday. The district administration has assured that Arjun's body parts stuck inside the cabin will be taken out from the completely damaged lorry after bringing it to the shore. The mission team was able to take out only half of Arjun's body.
The lorry was brought to the shore using two cranes. Arjun's brother Abhijith had already found his clothes from the lorry. Abhijith told media that this is the only thing left for the memory of his brother.
Meantime, the authorities informed that the process to take Arjun's body home will start today. Reports said the samples will be collected today for DNA testing. The result is expected to get within two days. The district administration had already stated yesterday that the aim is to complete the process as early as possible.
The answer to the question ‘where is Arjun and the truck’ was obtained on the 72nd day after the landslide in Shirur. The decomposed body trapped inside the damaged cabin, was shifted to the hospital mortuary yesterday itself. The lorry was found in the Gangavali River in the search conducted using a dredger. It was at a depth of 12 meters at a distance of 120 meters from the road in front of Lakshman's tea shop where the truck was parked. A team of scuba divers found part of the truck yesterday morning under the bank at Point Two (CP-2), which was marked by the Navy's drone inspection. The lorry was upside down in the mud pit.
