MALAPPURAM: The police have taken action in connection with the protest held in Nilambur with murder slogans against PV Anvar MLA. The police have registered a case against around 100 CPM activists in connection with the incident in which they raised slogans and staged demonstrations against Anvar.
Following Anvar's allegations against the chief minister and the party, CPM activists had staged a protest in Nilambur yesterday with murder slogans against Anvar.
Slogans were raised during the protest, including 'Anvar's hand and leg would be chopped off and thrown into the river if Govindan Mash snaps a finger'. The demonstration was held with a banner saying "Don't play with the red flag". At the end of the demonstrations, PV Anvar's effigy was also burnt.
In Edavanna too, the CPM had organised a demonstration and a political briefing meeting. Even during this demonstration, murder slogans were raised against Anvar. The protest was held with the slogan 'if anyone turned against the leaders, their hands would be chopped off' and 'if they anyone against the movement, there would be retaliation.'
