Nava Kerala bus black flag protest; clean chit for gunman Anil Kumar and security officer Sandeep; Youth Congress to move against crime branch

ALAPPUZHA: Kerala was shocked to see the chief minister's gunman hitting the youth Congress and KSU leaders, who showed black flags to the Nava Kerala bus, on their heads with lathis. However, the crime branch has given a clean chit to gunman Anil Kumar and Sandeep, the security officer who assaulted the youth Congress and KSU leaders.

The Youth Congress is planning to approach the court against the crime branch. An objection petition will be filed. The visuals of the assault were also given as e-mails to the police and crime branch chiefs.

Crime Branch DySP Sunil Raj had submitted a report to the Alappuzha magistrate's court to close the case saying that they did not get enough visuals to register a case. The report also contains a strange reason that the media did not provide the visuals of the beating.

The black flag protest was held at Alappuzha General Hospital Junction on December 15, 2023. The police did not investigate the complaints lodged with the South police and the district police chief. The case was registered when the injured approached the court.

Youth Congress state general secretary Ajay Jewel Kuriakose said that when the visuals of the assault captured by the channels were given on a CD, they demanded the visuals captured by the complainants. Ajay is one of the victims of the brutal assault. "They had no answer when asked how the footage would be captured while getting attacked. They did not accept the scene shot by the activists. KSU district president AD Thomas was also seriously injured. Thomas said the visuals of the violence were given to the investigating officer twice in a pen drive and once in a CD.
