P P Diva in police custody till 5 pm today, grilling continues

KANNUR: P P Divya, former president of Kannur district panchayat, arrested in the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu, is in police custody for a day. The Kannur Judicial First-Class Magistrate's Court granted custody till 5:00 pm today, although the police sought her custody for two days. Divya should be produced in the court at 5 pm.

Divya was taken to the ACP office for questioning following the custody granted. The police questioned Divya on the day she was arrested, but many things have not been clarified. She is being grilled today to get a clarification on it. The media sought her response when she was brought out of the court, but she refused to respond.

Meanwhile, the Thalassery court will consider her bail plea today. Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha will join the petition. Divya surrendered before the investigation team on Tuesday after the court rejected her anticipatory bail plea. Divya remanded for 14 days was taken to Pallikunnu women’s jail.
