WASHINGTON: The first signal about the trend in the US presidential elections will be made public by early Wednesday morning. The polling started at 4.30 pm Indian time on Tuesday and will end on Wednesday at 9.30 am. Voting is held at different times in different states due to different time zones. The counting of votes will start as soon as polling ends. The results in the eastern state will be announced first.
The battle between Republican candidate Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala is unprecedentedly fierce and can go either way. This may also delay the announcement of results. The results in seven swing states, including Arizona and Pennsylvania, are important. America's first vote was in the tiny village of Dixville Notch in northern New Hampshire.
Polling started here at 10.30 am on Tuesday and the result came in 12 minutes. Out of 6 total voters, 3 each voted for Trump and Kamala. New Hampshire law allows municipalities with a population of less than 100 to vote at midnight. In the 2020 elections, Joe Biden received five votes from Dixville Notch.
