THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Out of 50 lakh people screened as part of Ardram Health lifestyle screening, 1,10,781 people were found prone to cancer. They were referred for further treatment. As a part of the early detection and prevention of diseases, the state health department conducts screening in the name of 'Shaili'. Among those tested, 23,21,315 people were found to be susceptible to lifestyle diseases.
1,45,867 people were referred for TB tests, and 2,10,641 were referred for respiratory tests. 54,772 bedridden patients, 85,551 persons in need of assistance, and 16,31,932 elderly persons were provided with follow-up services.
At present, the health-related information of 6,53,541 people with hypertension, 4,31,448 people with diabetes, and 2,71,144 people with both these diseases has been recorded.
Other diseases
With the help of an app designed by eHealth, Asha workers are conducting screening directly at home. Suspected individuals will be screened and diagnosed and follow-up treatment will be ensured. By early detection and treatment, the disease can be controlled without complications.
