Bayilvan Ranganathan is a journalist and actor who has created controversies through his YouTube interviews against Trisha and Dhanush. It was only a few days ago that Bayilvan shared on the YouTube channel King 24x7 about his friendship with famous actress Silk Smitha and the incident that led to her death.
"In the olden days, to become actresses in films, girls used to send their semi-nude-glamorous pictures to the media in which I worked. One such picture of Silk Smitha appeared in the Maya magazine where I worked. That was in 1980. Director Vinu Chakravarthy, who was directing the film Vandichakkaram, came to me after seeing the picture." Bayilvan says that he went with Vinu Chakravarthy to find the person who took the photo and they soon found Silk Smitha.
Smita was getting a series of opportunities after her first film. Silk Smita came to be known as 'Silk' after she starred in the film Silk Silk Silk. Bayilvan Ranganathan says Smita was friendly with him whenever she saw him in public places and occasionally gave her money, but whenever she offered money he told her that he didn't want money but wanted a chance in movies. Bayilvan also recalls that he had acted with Silk Smitha in a number of films as her husband and lover. Ranganathan also said that the actress was not interested in doing glamour roles even though she got noticed for glamour roles. In the video, Ranganathan clearly mentions the reason behind the actress committing suicide. According to Bayilvan Ranganathan, in her late years, Smita was in a relationship with a doctor who was married and was a father of two children, and the problems of making a film for his son are what led to her suicide.
