Wayanad landslide survivor Sruthi gets job in revenue department; Govt issues order

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The most haunting story from the Wayanad landslides would be of S Sruthi. She lost nine members of her family in the Chooralmala disaster. Yet, a ray of hope remained — her fiancé Jenson. He promised to hold her dear for eternity. Just some week after his statement in a media interview, Jenson died in a road accident while Sruthi, who was alongside him, survived with minor injuries.

And now, as promised, providing little solace, the government on Thursday issued an order confirming the job to Sruthi in the revenue department. The appointment is for the post of clerk in the revenue department in Wayanad district. The order also states that the district collector of Wayanad should inform the government about the appointment order.

Revenue Minister K. Rajan had assured all government help for Sruthi while CM Pinarayi Vijayan earlier promised a government job to secure her life.
