THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former industries department director K Gopalakrishnan, who was suspended in connection with the controversy related to the mallu Hindu WhatsApp group, has been given a Memo of charge. The memo alleges serious offences such as trying to create divisions among IAS officers in the state, trying to create disharmony and trying to disrupt solidarity among officers. The memo was issued by Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan. K Gopalakrishnan has to reply to the memo within 30 days.
The memo pointed out that Gopalakrishnan's act was in violation of various provisions of the Code of Conduct in the All India Service Rules. Gopalakrishnan's complaint that the groups were formed after hacking his phone has no evidence. Mallu Hindu Officers- Mallu Muslim Officers Groups were formed. The memo also alleged that Gopalakrishnan tried to erase evidence by resetting the phone several times before the forensic examination. Disciplinary action will be taken if a written reply is not given within 30 days.
