LUCKNOW: A 13-year-old girl was found hanging from a 60-foot-high Ferris wheel. She was rescued after a few heart-stopping moments. The incident was reported on Wednesday from Rakehti village in Nighasan area of Lakhimpur Kheri, around 130 km from Lucknow. The incident happened when the girl came to attend the fair going on for days. The girl lost her balance and slipped out and was seen hanging on to an iron rod. The wheel was stopped and she was safely rescued by the operator.

District magistrate Rajiv Nigam said the girl is safe and has not been identified. The operators were not given permission to run the Ferris wheel at the fair. Police said an investigation will be conducted on the incident.

A similar incident had happened in Uttar Pradesh last month. A 14-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after entering the wheel in the fair organized in Kannauj. The girl’s hair got trapped in the iron rod. The girl’s mother had lodged a complaint.
