KOCHI: CPM Ernakulam district secretary CN Mohanan and CPM district secretariat member Devadasan visited the accused convicted in the Periya double murder case at the special CBI court. CN Mohanan told the media that the convicts were party workers and there was nothing unusual in visiting them.

"They are communists. That's why I came to meet them. The court said they are guilty. There is no other opinion about that. There are other courts. I came to the court to meet them only. The party at Kasaragod will decide whether to file an appeal," CN Mohanan said.

Accused from ex-MLA to ex-local committee member have been convicted in the case of the murder of Youth Congress workers in Periya. The court awarded double life imprisonment to ten persons and five years of rigorous imprisonment to four accused.
