THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This year's Kalolsavam is a gloomy time for Devamanasa, who has shown her acting prowess in front of the lamp and the camera. Even as she dances in the costume of a demon in number 909, Devmanasa, a Plus Two student, is sad of thinking that her school Kalaotsavam days are coming to an end.

Devmanasa is also participating in Chavittunatagam to make the final competition colorful, along with single Kathakali, group Kathakali, and Ottanthullal. She has already secured an A grade for Ottanthullal, which she participated first, this time. Along with Kathakali, Devmanasa has acted as a child artist in about seven films, including Thattumpurath Achuthan, To Noora with Love, and others.

Devmanasa, who won the 2020 Indian Icon Award, Gurudeva Award, and the Special Jury Award of the Film Audience Committee for her acting, has been offered opportunities by directors including Vinayan and Lal Jose.

Devmanasa, who has been practicing Kathakali since she was in the second standard under renowned Kathakali aashan Kalamandalam Krishna Prasad, has also received a CCRT scholarship. For Devamanasa, who has performed 27 characters in over 150 venues, Kathakali is not just a competition, it is her life. Her mother Dr Mini, a professor at Payyannur College and her father G Anil Kumar, a businessman, are with her with full support.
