THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: If party members have a drinking habit, they should consume it at home, says CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam. He was talking to the media about the amendment in the party's working document that removes the ban on drinking alcohol for party members. The new guideline will now be discussed in the district council. The final decision will be taken later. The party's guideline not allowing alcohol has now been changed.
‘The party's policy is abstinence from alcohol and not prohibition. Party members should have alcohol at home. Members should not come before the public in an inebriated condition. If the members have a drinking habit, the party cannot stop it. But should intervene responsibly in the society,' said Binoy Viswam.
