KALPETTA: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan on Monday accepted the apology of former MLA PV Anvar. Speaking to the media in Wayanad, Satheesan remarked that the "door is neither closed nor open" for Anvar and that an appropriate decision regarding his entry into the Congress party would be made at the right time.
Earlier in the day, Anvar had issued a public apology to Satheesan, saying that he had levelled a baseless election fund embezzlement allegation against Satheesan as per the advice of P Sasi, the Chief Minister's political secretary.
Satheesan said that Anvar’s revelations made it clear that the allegations raised in the Assembly were part of a conspiracy involving the Chief Minister and his office staff.
"Back then, I had said that the false allegation was made with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's approval. At that time, they all laughed. An MLA of the ruling front cannot make allegations without the Chief Minister’s knowledge. I had then asked, ‘Should I laugh or cry at this situation?’" Satheesan said.
"The baseless allegations were fabricated to counter accusations against the Chief Minister. The Vigilance department had already dismissed those claims. I had earlier stated that senior CPM leaders were behind Anvar’s allegations, which Anvar himself has now confirmed," Satheesan added.
