Video call with Harikumar while staying in adjacent rooms, Sreethu attended religious classes; both mysterious in characters

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Harikumar, the accused in the case of murdering his two-and-a-half-year-old niece, is on a hunger strike at the police station. Reports said the accused is not taking any food and is also not drinking water. He is not replying to the police. He told police to investigate and find out everything.

The dead is Devendu, daughter of Sreetuh and Sreejith, living in a rented house in Kottukalkonam. Sreethu's younger brother Harikumar (25) is the accused in the case.

The police said Sreethu and Harikumar are mysterious in characters. Even when being in adjacent rooms, the two involved in video calls. Reports said Sreethu also attended religious classes. Harikumar was assisting a priest in Alappuzha.

Sreethu was not sad on her own daughter’s death. She did not even attend her daughter’s funeral. Sreethu's statement that once Harikumar had thrown Devendu out of anger and that he showed anger towards her children because he loved her more, turned vital in the case. Sreethu also told police that a friend had stolen her Rs 30 lakhs given to buy a house.

The police will record the statements of Sreethu's eldest daughter and mother Sreekala again today. The two were taken to the police station. There are reports that Harikumar had troubled this child in the past.
