THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The LDF manifesto is also expected to offer a wide array of promises for women, including huge benefits and schemes. The highlights of the manifesto will include free travel for women on KSRTC and a women's security pension of Rs 1,000 for all women. Presently Rs 1,000 is being given to economically backward women who have no other means of income. The manifesto will also contain promises such as increasing the social welfare pension to Rs 3,500.

The manifesto is likely to be released today itself. The committee chaired by former minister Thomas Isaac finalized the manifesto. The subcommittee comprises Mathew T Thomas, Prakash Babu and Varghese George. The chief minister approved the draft manifesto prepared by them. The LDF prepared the manifesto based on the suggestions received from the public.

The LDF's manifesto for the recent local body elections gave equal importance to various sectors. The prominent promises in the manifesto were to ensure housing, food, medical treatment, education and employment for everyone. The LDF had said that they had put forward a vision of strengthening decentralization of power in line with the vision of New Kerala through the manifesto.
