KOCHI: The family of Madhu, who was the victim of a mob attack in Attappady, has also filed a complaint against Advocate S. Sreekumar, who took a stand in the High Court against the family's demand for a CBI investigation into Naveen Babu's death. Madhu's mother Malli has sent a complaint to the Supreme Court, the High Court Chief Justice, the Registrar and the Bar Council, seeking immediate action against Sreekumar.
Sreekumar had earlier appeared on behalf of the family in the ongoing appeal in the High Court in the Madhu murder case. The family had requested the government to appoint special prosecutors in the case. The names of both lawyers were also suggested. However, Adv. Sreekumar supported another lawyer instead of the lawyers suggested by the family. The government also appointed this lawyer as the special prosecutor.
Sreekumar acted against the interest of the party. It is against ethics and therefore the demand is for action against Sreekumar. Adv. S. Sreekumar told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that he is not interested to give response at the moment to both controversies raised against him.
Madhu's sister Sarasu and others had reached Kochi yesterday to file a complaint in person at the High Court. 'Madhu Neethi Samrakshana Samiti' activists said that the complaint was filed through e-mail as it was a holiday for the court. Naveen's family had already informed that Adv. Sreekumar would be removed from the Naveen Babu case.
Without our knowledge, Adv. Sreekumar supported another lawyer to be made a special prosecutor. Many people asked us to file a complaint should be filed that day itself. But the mother's stance was that God will ask. Now, knowing that Naveen Babu's family has also been cheated, we have also come with the complaint.
