POTHENCODE: G. Janardhanan Menon (78), one of the early disciples of Santhigiri Ashram founder Guru Navajyothi Karunakara Guru, passed away. He passed away at 8.40 pm on Saturday at Sree Gokulam Medical College, Venjaramood. He was born on January 11, 1947, in Parali, Palakkad being the eldest of seven children of the famous couple C. Gopalakrishna Menon and K. Thankammal.
After completing his postgraduate studies, he became an officer in the Air Force. He joined the service as an Air Officer Sergeant in Kanpur. Later, he settled permanently in Seeranaickenpalayam in Coimbatore. It was while working in the Indian Air Force that he came to know about Santhigiri Ashram through his colleagues and came to meet the guru in 1981. After retiring from work in 1982, he came to the ashram with his family.
Janardhanan's service period was with the early workers of the ashram, P.C. Narayanan Nair (Swami Dharmananda Gnanathapasvi), T.V. Balakrishnan (Swami Paripurna Gnanathapasvi), and D. Ranjan. He was then the ashram advisory committee advisor and the general manager of the Santhigiri Research Foundation. He was also in charge of the safety department. He served in various ashram branches, including New Delhi.
After the public darshan at the ashram Spiritual Zone Conference Hall from 9 am, Monday, the cremation will be held at the Santhigiri ashram premises at 4 pm.
Wife: S. Padmaja Kumari (Vice Principal of Santhigiri Vidya Bhavan Higher Secondary School). Daughter: Janani Renurupa Jnana Tapaswini is a member of Santhigiri Gurudharma Prakasha Sabha.
