THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the local body elections nearing, central agencies are gradually expanding their operations in Kerala, alleged CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan. He claimed that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) notice to K. Radhakrishnan regarding the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank financial fraud is a continuation of earlier conspiracies. He made these remarks during a press conference following the first meeting of the newly formed state committee.
Govindan asserted that the party would resist the actions of central agencies both legally and politically. He accused them of attempting to weaken the CPM, the state government and take control of the cooperative sector.
Govindan also strongly criticized the RSS's stance against Tushar Gandhi, calling it highly condemnable. He stated that some individuals in Kerala still possess the mindset of those who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
During the state committee meeting, PB member M.A. Baby presented the political review report. It was also decided to organize EMS-AKG commemoration programs from the 19th to the 22nd and to hold grand celebrations for the fourth anniversary of the state government with party workers' support.

CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan visited former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan at his residence. During the visit, he interacted with Achuthanandan’s wife Vasumathi and son Arun Kumar.
Govindan’s visit took place ahead of the CPM state committee meeting held at the AKG Centre. The absence of Achuthanandan’s name in the state committee discussions had sparked speculation. Addressing this, Govindan reaffirmed that V.S. Achuthanandan remains an integral part of the party.
