KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan secured their fifth Indian Super League (ISL) title by defeating a strong Bengaluru FC side 2-1 in the final held at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium. With this victory, Mohun Bagan successfully defended their title for the second consecutive year.
Bengaluru FC initially took the lead, but Mohun Bagan came from behind to claim the crown.
Since both teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation time, the match went into extra time. Mohun Bagan’s goals came from Jason Cummings (72nd minute, penalty) and Jamie Maclaren (96th minute). Bengaluru’s only goal was an own goal conceded by Bagan player Alberto Rodríguez in the 49th minute.
