Cannabis worth eight lakh brought to city targeting Vishu-Easter celebrations; massive drug bust in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Three youths arrested with ganja taken for sale in a pickup van. Sreejith GC (30) of Kombraja House, Kriti Guru K (32) of Ullodi House, and Muhammad Ashraf (37) of Fathima Manzil, natives of Badiyadka, Kasaragod, were arrested. Chevayoor police said that 20 kilograms 465 grams of ganja was found from them. The ganja was brought for sale in the city.

They were arrested by the DANSAF team led by Assistant Commissioner of Kozhikode City Narcotics Cell KA Bose and the Chevayoor police led by Chevayoor SI Nimin K Divakaran. The drugs, which were brought from Kasaragod to Kozhikode in a pickup van for sale, were seized at Malaparamba junction. The ganja was found hidden under the seat when vehicle was stopped and inspected. The Ganja worth Rs. 8 lakhs jointly seized by the DANSAF and Chevayoor police was brought to the city targeting the Vishu-Easter celebrations.

Meanwhile, the police conducted a lightning raid on various spa centers in Thiruvananthapuram city today. The raid was conducted based on a tip-off that illegal establishments were selling drugs. The raids are targeting various massage parlors and spa centers in the city. Last week, an employee was caught with MDMA from a spa center in Kazhakoottam.
