Explosion at firecracker factory in Andhra Pradesh; eight people including two women killed, seven injured

AMARAVATI: Eight people, including two women, died in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Andhra Pradesh. The explosion took place in the afternoon at a firecracker factory in Kotauratla in Anakapalle district. Seven people suffered burns. They were admitted to nearby hospitals.

Rescue operations are in progress in the area. 15 people were in the firecracker factory at the time of the accident. The firecracker manufacturing unit was completely destroyed in the explosion. All the deceased in the accident are residents of Samarlakota in Kakinada district. The rescue operation was carried out jointly by police and fire brigade personnel.
