KOCHI: Rapper Vedan responded to the acerbic remarks made by Dr. N. R. Madhu, editor of RSS mouthpiece Kesari, about the former’s songs paving the way for caste terrorism. In a forthright response, Vedan said he would continue to sing in temple festivals if provided with a chance.
Vedan made this response when he arrived at Kodanad Forest Department range office regarding the bail conditions in the tiger tooth locket case.
“People can make opinions. Even in past, many have labelled me as a separatist. I don’t know why I'm provided with that label. The claims of caste terrorism are nothing but a joke. I believe in Ambedkar's politics, which preaches equality. Let the people decide the rest.” said Vedan.
The RSS leader's controversial remarks were made during the closing ceremony of the consecration anniversary of the Sree Parvati Devi Temple in Kizhakkekallada, Kollam.
“These art forms are poisoning the current generation. Extra care should be taken not to allow such people to perform in temple events. There are indeed dark forces behind him who dream of dividing the country.” said Madhu.
DYFI Kollam District Committee member Shyam Mohan filed a complaint with the Kollam District Superintendent of Police over the RSS leader’s controversial remarks.
