MALAPPURAM: Former Nilambur MLA P V Anvar held discussions with Indian Union Muslim League Leader P K Kunhalikutty amid ongoing strife over candidate selection in the constituency. Anvar said that he had apprised Kunhalikutty about the situation.
"Kunhalikutty is always positive. He knows politics and makes every move with precision. I will wait for two more days to decide on contesting the by-polls." said Anvar.
The Trinamool leadership earlier made it clear that PV Anvar would contest the Nilambur by-polls. The Trinamool asked UDF to make a decision on Anvar’s demand or else face competition from within.
It has been more than five months since the Trinamool Congress submitted a letter requesting that it be made part of the UDF.
Meanwhile, Congress leader K Sudhakaran responded that Anvar would be included in the UDF. He clarified that Anvar's demands would be accepted to the maximum extent and termed the former Nilambur MLA as an asset for the front.
