Actor and director E A Rajendran dies

KOLLAM: Noted actor and director E A Rajendran (71) has died. He breathed his last at his house in Pattathanam, Kollam. He was under treatment for quite some time. He has acted in almost 60 films. He will be laid to rest at his native place in Thrithallur, Thrissur.

Rajendran is the son of Ayyappan and Sumathi of Engoor Tharavadu in Thrissur’s Thrithallur. After graduating from the National School of Drama in Delhi with first rank, he did television course from the Film Institute in Pune.

He first appeared on the silver screen with the film Greeshmam. He became famous with films like Kaliyattam, Pranayavarnangal, Daya, Pattabhishekam, Meesha Madhavan, Narasimham etc. Along with drama and cinema, he was also active in television serials. Rajendran is husband of Sandhya, sister of actor and MLA Mukesh.
