MALAPPURAM: Trinamool Congress workers have put more pressure on Congress as former MLA PV Anvar is standing as a concern following the announcement of the UDF candidate in Nilambur. Workers have installed huge flex boards of PV Anvar in Nilambur. "Nilambur Sultan PV Anvar will continue" is written along with Anvar's picture. The board also says 'The hope of the people of the hills, the people are with you'. The boards are now installed in Vazhikkadavu and Chungathara areas.
Meanwhile, there are conflicting opinions within the UDF regarding Anvar. K Sudhakaran MP had stated in a press conference that in the Nilambur by-election, if the UDF does not get the votes that Anvar has in his hand, it will be a setback and that he will talk to VD Satheesan about this. Sudhakaran added that the Muslim League is interested in bringing Anvar. 'The Congress will discuss and decide on PV Anvar's party entry. That decision should not be taken by the opposition leader alone. The party leadership should take that decision as a whole. Senior leaders have not yet discussed the issue related to Anvar. A discussion under the leadership of the new president is essential. I believe that it will happen as soon as possible,' Sudhakaran said.
However, VD Satheesan said that his words on the PV Anvar issue were not personal and that it was the decision of the Congress. "PV Anvar should decide what stance to take in the election. In the event of a difference of opinion, it is up to him to decide whether to cooperate with the Nilambur by-election and the UDF's election activities. If he cooperates, we will work together. The UDF will comment after Anvar makes a decision," V.D. Satheesan clarified.
