TEHRAN: The conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated dramatically, with the Israeli military launching a strike on Iran's state-run television channel, IRIB, shortly after urging civilians to evacuate Tehran. The attack took place during a live broadcast, with footage capturing the moment a bomb struck near the studio. The anchor was seen abandoning the news desk as the blast sent dust and debris swirling through the set.
Israel had previously issued a warning that the channel would be targeted. However, despite the attack, the channel continued its broadcast. The anchor even challenged Israel to strike again. Reports indicate that several media personnel were killed in the attack.
In retaliation, Iran has issued its own warning, threatening to target Israeli news networks Channel 12 and Channel 14. Authorities in Tehran have also urged residents of Tel Aviv to evacuate as tensions continue to mount. Diplomatic sources indicate that Iran has reached out to Gulf countries to explore potential mediation for a ceasefire.
