NEW DELHI: The untimely death of actress and model Shefali Jariwala is suspected to be linked to her prolonged use of anti-ageing medication, police sources revealed. On June 27, Shefali was reportedly fasting due to a puja held at her residence. That afternoon, she is believed to have received her regular anti-ageing injection.
According to initial findings, Shefali had been undergoing anti-ageing treatment for the past eight years, following medical advice. She was reportedly receiving monthly injections throughout this period. Police suspect that the overuse of these medications may have triggered a fatal heart attack.
Shefali’s health took a sudden turn between 10 and 11 PM on the same day, when she began shivering and lost consciousness. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she could not be revived.
Shefali's husband Parag, her mother, and a few others were present at the home at the time of the incident. A forensic team later arrived at the scene to collect all medications Shefali had been taking, which included anti-ageing drugs, vitamin supplements, and gastric tablets. Investigators have so far recorded statements from eight individuals, including family members, domestic help, and her attending physicians.
Shefali gained widespread recognition through her iconic appearance in the 2002 music video Kaanta Laga. She later featured in the Bollywood film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan, and participated in popular reality TV shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss.
