MUMBAI: A video causing embarrassment to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has surfaced before the language controversies in Maharashtra and the incidents of Raj Thackeray's followers thrashing non-Marathi speakers have cooled down. The incident took place in Andheri, Mumbai. An MNS leader's son, who was drunk and unconscious, is seen verbally abusing a Marathi-speaking woman in the scenes.
The argument over the man's vehicle hitting the woman's vehicle later escalated into a language dispute. Rahil Sheikh, son of MNS leader Javed Sheikh, was the one who created the ruckus after the car accident. Rahil, who was drunk, was half-naked while verbally abusing the Marathi-speaking woman. Rahil Sheikh was verbally assaulting Rakhi Sawant's ex-best friend Rajshree More.
The video shows the accused abusing and threatening Rajshree More highlighting his father's influence. 'Go and tell the police that I am Javed Sheikh's son, then you will see what happens,' he said in Marathi, in the video. Rajshree has filed a police complaint against Rahil. The woman herself shared the footage of the incident on her Instagram page.
Many senior leaders in Maharashtra criticised Rahil's misbehaviour after the footage went viral. Shiv Sena's Sanjay Nirupam also shared the video, questioning MNS's claim of preserving Marathi pride. "Are MNS leaders attacking Hindus under pressure from these Muslims?,' he asked.
