Mohanlal's 'Swapnamalika' set for release after 16-year delay

The film ‘Swapnamalika’, directed by debutant K.A. Devaraj and starring Mohanlal in the lead, is finally going to hit the big screens after 16 years. The film, which was delayed due to differences of opinion between the director and the lead, is expected to hit the theatres in October. However, the movie's director, Devaraj, will not be able to see his dream turn a reality as he died in April of 2024.

The story of the movie, produced by Mohan Das Karimbil under the banner of Karimbil Films, is written by Mohanlal himself. Mohanlal plays the role of a cancer specialist named Dr. Appu Nair. Israeli actress Elena and Meera Jasmine are the heroines. Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Shammi Thilakan, Kottayam Nazir, Sivaji Guruvayur, Saju Kodiyan and Sukumari are the other stars in the film.
