Teen dies of snake bite in Wayanad

MANANTHAVADY: A plus one student died while undergoing treatment for snakebite. She has been identified as Vaiga Vinod (16) of Arattuthara Government Higher Secondary School in Mananthavady. She was admitted to Mananthavady Government Medical College Hospital after developing physical discomfort. When she was subjected to an expert treatment, it was found that she was bitten by a snake.

The girl was in a critical condition even after treatment started. She was then rushed to a private medical college hospital in Meppadi for specialist treatment, but her life could not be saved. Initial report is that neither the girl nor her family were aware of the snake bite. It was only after she was taken to the hospital it was found that Vaiga had a mark of a snake bite on her leg. She leaves behind her parents Vinod and Vineetha and sister Krishnapriya.
