15-year-old girl shot dead; search for 20-year-old male friend

NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old girl was shot dead by her 20-year-old boyfriend in Delhi on Sunday night. The girl identified as Sumbul had gone to a market with her friend to buy some things. Aryan, her alleged lover, arrived there with his friends and shot her multiple times. The incident was reported from north Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area.

The police have intensified search for the accused, who escaped after the murder. They are also examining the CCTV footage from the spot.

The two were in a relationship. The girl’s family lives in Jahangirpuri, near the site of the attack. Her mother works as a maid while her father stays in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad.

The police have registered a case against the accused and further investigation is underway.
