THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 1761 people suspected of being involved in drug sales were subjected to inspection during a statewide special drive conducted on August 7 as part of Operation D-Hunt. The special drive resulted in 90 cases being registered for possession of banned substances and the arrest of 98 accused. During the operation, the police seized a range of narcotics, including 0.06676 kg of MDMA, 32.57797 kg of cannabis, and 63 ganja-laced beedis.

Authorities said the mission aimed to track down and take strict legal action against those engaged in the storage and sale of prohibited drugs. A 24-hour Anti-Narcotics Control Room (9497927797) continues to operate to receive tip-offs from the public, with all informants’ identities kept strictly confidential.

The intensified anti-drug efforts are being coordinated under the direct supervision of the ADGP, Law and Order. Supporting the mission are the State Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell, the NDPS Coordination Cell, and range-level Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cells.
