Woman under treatment for rabies dies in Pathanamthitta

PATHANAMTHITTA: A 65-year-old woman died of rabies in Pathanamthitta. Th dead is Krishnamma of Mannaramala in Pathanamthitta. A stray dog had bit her in the first week of September. She was then admitted at Kottayam Medical College Hospital and administered vaccine. When the dog attacked her, she fell down and then the dog bit her on her face. The dog was later found dead.

23 people have died of rabies in Kerala in the last seven months. This is according to the figures submitted to the high court by the state government. There has been an increase in deaths due to rabies when compared to last year. In the meanwhile, another death of rabies has occurred.
