Dagger kept hidden inside child's school bag; Shocking CCTV visuals of hacking doctor out

KOZHIKODE: The CCTV footage of the attack on Dr Vipin at Thamarassery Taluk Hospital was released on Thursday. The footage shows the accused Sanoop entering the doctor's room after leaving his children outside. It can be seen that Sanoop kept the dagger inside his child’s school bag before entering the room.

The hilt of the dagger can be seen protruding from the bag in the footage. Immediately after the doctor was stabbed, the people nearby reacted quickly and subdued the attacker after forcibly grabbing him. The CCTV footage also shows the doctor covering his head with his hands after being hacked.

Dr P. T. Vipin (35), Casualty Medical Officer and Assistant Surgeon at Thamarassery Taluk Hospital, was fatally stabbed in the head at 1.45 pm yesterday. Sanoop believed that his nine-year-old daughter, a victim of amoebic meningoencephalitis, died due to the doctor’s negligence. However, in reality, it was not Dr Vipin who treated Sanoop's daughter at the hospital.
