Photographed murder case accused inside courtroom; judge asks lady communist leader to be taken into custody

KANNUR: The CPM woman leader who took a photo of the accused in the courtroom will submit a written apology. Former Payyannur Municipality Vice Chairperson KP Jyoti was the CPM leader who took the photo of the accused. The incident took place at the Taliparamba Additional District Sessions Court.

Jyoti took the photo of the accused during the witness examination in the Dhanraj murder case. The judge asked for Jyoti to be taken into custody. She was warned not to show the arrogance of authority. Jyoti was also ordered to remain in court until 5 pm. In addition, she had to pay a fine of Rs. 1,000. CV Dhanaraj, a CPM activist from Payyannur, was killed on July 11, 2016.
