Patient scheduled for angiogram neglected, dies, medical negligence levelled against Thiruvananthapuram MCH

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A patient died following medical negligence at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The dead is Venu (48) of Panmana in Kollam. It is alleged that he lost his life due to the negligence in heart treatment.

Venu died on Wednesday. His voice message sent to his friend while undergoing treatment has emerged. The message says that if anything happens to him, the hospital would be solely responsible for it. He alleged that he came for angiogram and even after six days, the hospital authorities failed to attend on him.

‘There is corruption in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. It is being damaged by corruption. If we ask anything to those in uniforms, they fail to respond and stare at us. I came here on Friday night for an emergency angiogram. Today is Wednesday. It has been six days.

I am a patient reffered to Thiruvananthapuram as an emergency case. I do not understand the incompetence they are showing in my name. When I asked the doctor who came for the rounds about the angiogram, he had no idea. It is not clear whether they are doing this by taking bribes.
