CHENNAI: A woman and her female partner were arrested in the death of a six-month-old toddler. The incident took place in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The truth came out after the father of the baby raised suspicion about the death.

The baby died earlier this month. It was reported that milk got stuck down the toddler’s throat while breastfeeding, which resulted in the death. The police then registered a case of unnatural death. The body was then buried in a field owned by the family. A few days later, the father of the baby approached the police with a complaint regarding his wife’s affair with another woman. He presented pictures, messages and footage as evidence. He also suspected that his baby's death could be a murder.

The baby's body was exhumed earlier this week, and a postmortem was conducted. The postmortem report revealed that the baby died of suffocation. Police said that further investigation is needed to confirm whether the baby's death was a murder. During interrogation, the woman confessed that she did not want the baby. The woman also revealed to the police that her husband had no love or consideration for her.
