"Promised to marry; asked to change clothes and leave as soon as possible": Another rape case filed against Rahul Mamkootathil

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Another case has been registered against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who is absconding in a sexual harassment case. The Crime Branch has registered a new case in the incident where a woman was raped after being called on the pretext of discussing marriage. The complaint filed by the victim to the KPCC leadership was handed over to the police the other day. The woman has raised serious allegations in the complaint.

The Crime Branch has decided to record the complainant's statement in the wake of the new case being registered against the Palakkad MLA. With the new developments, the move to expel Rahul Mamkootathil from the party is also active in the ranks. More leaders are toughening their stance against Rahul. Members, including women leaders, are demanding strict action against Rahul Mamkootathil and his expulsion.

The woman had revealed that she had to face severe physical abuse from Rahul. The woman says that Rahul called her to discuss future matters including marriage and then raped her when she entered the room. The woman says that after the abuse, Rahul, without any remorse, asked her to change her clothes and leave as soon as possible.

The woman also says in her complaint that Rahul Mamkootathil is a sexual predator who abuses his political power to cheat girls. The woman says that her family had not agreed when she disclosed that Rahul had proposed marriage, but they agreed when he became the state president of the Youth Congress.

"When I informed Rahul that my family agreed to the marriage, he responded that he would bring his family to talk about it. Later, when I returned home, Rahul's friend took me to him, saying he wanted to meet me in person. I was taken to a place outside the city in the vehicle of his friend named Fenni Ninan. He was the one who put me in the vehicle and brought me back home. After raping me, Rahul said that he did not intend to marry anyone and that it was not good for his political future," says the victim.
