THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted a joint interrogation of accused Unnikrishnan Potty, Pankaj Bhandari and Govardhan in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case.

Investigators have received details about the distribution of gold that was separated at Smart Creation. The SIT also questioned Unnikrishnan Potty to clarify statements previously made by former Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran.

So far, the investigation has not found evidence linking Tamil Nadu natives D. Mani, Balamurugan and Sreekrishnan, who were questioned earlier, to the Sabarimala gold theft. Mani informed the SIT that he does not know either the expatriate who gave information about him or Unnikrishnan Potty.

Another person questioned, Sreekrishnan, a native of Tamil Nadu, is an accused in an iridium fraud case. Investigators have information that he collected money from several individuals. The SIT is also checking whether this group had approached an expatriate businessman in this regard.

Adoor Prakash may be questioned
Sources indicate that the SIT may question UDF convener Adoor Prakash to establish clarity on his association with the prime accused, Unnikrishnan Potty. Investigators are also examining photographs that show Potty in the company of Congress leaders. It is reported that Adoor Prakash was present with Unnikrishnan Potty when he met Sonia Gandhi in Delhi. Reacting to the reports, Adoor Prakash said that he has not received any notice from the SIT.
