NEW DELHI: The central government adopted a stern stance against the unrestrained vulgarity promoted by Elon Musk's X platform. The Union Ministry of Electronics and IT issued a notice to X, demanding that it remove obscene and illegal content within 72 hours. Otherwise, legal action will be initiated.

The notice is for the Chief Compliance Officer of India. It is said that the Union Ministry demanded that the social media platform work as per the provisions of IT laws and regulations. Illegal content generated by X's AI app, Grok, should also be removed.

Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena Uddhav faction leader Priyanka Chaturvedi had filed a complaint with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw over incidents of the Grok app being misused to produce obscene images of women and share them widely on social media.
