
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prasanth is getting ready to vacate his rented office functioning in the corporation building in Sasthamangalam. He took the new decision soon after the issues that broke out between him and ward councilor R Sreelekha in the name of the office. Prasanth decided to shift his MLA office to Maruthankuzhi.
Sreelekha had earlier demanded Prasanth to vacate his office. However, Prasanth refused to vacate and said that a ward councilor demanding the MLA to vacate his office. Sreelekha then appeared before the media with explanations. However, the office issue turned into a political dispute. Kadakampally Surendran MLA and others had severely criticized Sreelekha.
Meanwhile, Prasanth told media that there are no more disputes or discussions and that he had decided to vacate the office. He responded that the MLA office is a place where hundreds of people come every day and that he is moving to a place that is appropriate for that. ‘There is no place for disputes anymore. The people elected us for development. People come to the office not for politics. There was an attempt to spread slander against me personally in the name of the controversies. The date for shifting to the new office has not been decided,' said Prasanth.
Meantime, when the issue sparked a controversy, the MLA said that he is not planning to obey the councilor's orders. However, her stand was that she requested to vacate the office in the name of friendship. Recently, installation of a board with Sreelekha's name above the MLA's board in the office was widely discussed.
