THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Meteorological Department warned of light rain in the state in the coming days. Today, there is a green alert in all districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. Rainfall of 16.5 mm to 64.5 mm is possible.

The state is receiving rain due to the influence of an extremely low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Centre predicted a possibility of light rain in Sabarimala today as well. The sky will be generally cloudy in Pamba, Nilakkal and Sannidhanam. The Indian Meteorological Department predicted a possibility of light to moderate rain (up to two centimetres per hour).

The Indian Meteorological Department informed that there is no hindrance to fishing along the Kerala-Karnataka-Tamil Nadu coasts today. However, there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather along the Sri Lankan coast, the Gulf of Mannar, and the adjoining Kanyakumari area, with speeds of 35 to 45 kmph and occasionally up to 55 kmph.

Strong winds gusting to 35 to 45 kmph, and 55 kmph at times, accompanied by rough weather, are likely along the Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Kanyakumari areas on Monday. Fishing is also prohibited here during these days.
