Massive fire breaks out in Kazhakoottam, flames spreading close to Bharat Gas refilling plant

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A massive fire has broken out at the land owned by the Industries Department at Menamkulam in Kazhakkoottam. The incident was reported around noon today in the area near the Women’s Battalion camp. Strong winds are causing the fire to spread rapidly, raising serious concerns.

As the affected area is located close to a Bharat Gas refilling plant, authorities are maintaining high alert. As a precaution, students were evacuated from nearby schools, colleges, and ITIs. Fire and rescue units from various stations, including Technopark and Chackai, have reached the spot to douse the fire. The blaze is yet to be brought under control.
