THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health cards are being introduced to ensure the health of children and to collect accurate information. This is for children studying in classes 1 to 12 in government and aided schools. The cards will be issued as part of the Aksharam Arogyam School Health Program implemented under the leadership of the Health Department in collaboration with the Education Department.
The state-level inauguration of the Aksharam Arogyam Health program will be held at 11 am on the 6th at Cottonhill Government School by Minister Veena George. The health card will be issued after conducting a detailed examination. The child's health information will be recorded in the health card. Then it will be converted into an electronic health card. It will be stored in the state data centre with privacy and security. Hospitals will receive information about children who come to hospitals in emergencies based on their health cards. Health assemblies and health corners are being set up in all schools. Two children from every class will be made health ambassadors to ensure the participation of students in Aksharam Arogyam. Through them, the information provided by teachers can be disseminated among the students in a friendly manner.
